The establishment of Polytech Strascheg in St Petersburg is the result of long standing network relationships between the Technopark of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), a part of Munich University of Applied Sciences. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship was founded in Bavaria in 2002 and since then, as its Director Prof. Dr. Klaus Seiler says: ‘The essence of our strategy is the development of activities in a pyramid form. The basis of an open innovation culture are relationships between SCE and our partners’.  The Technopark of Peter the Great Polytechnic University was founded in 1998.  It therefore was an easy step for the partners in this academic network to decide on the establishment of Polytech Strascheg as a flag ship initiative in German-Russian cooperation in the support of entrepreneurship activities in the North West Region of Russia.
